Richard Mille is a luxury Swiss watch brand was founded in 1999 by Richard Mille.
Mille's success is founded upon three crucial elements: the best in technical innovation, the best of artistry and architecture, and the best of the heritage and culture of fine hand finished watchmaking.
Think Tank was contacted by the company to develop the packaging for a watch case to be used by Richard Mille sales representatives. The case needed to be both practical by being able to host nine watches, and a touch of added luxury touch to complement the brand's high-end image.
Our team went on the hunt for the perfect solution and materials. In the end, the best choice was a box made by MDF ( Medium-Density Fibreboard, an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres) making it a strong material and a cost-effective option.
The box was then wrapped in a new generation decorative cover material characterised by high gloss iridescent effects with a matt effect. Inside the box the team used a high definition grey Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA) foam with round edges and cushioning, to hold and protect the watches, made from soft touch micro fibre suede with wrapped board on ends.
The Richard Mille logo was then screen printed on the flap. The finished box was delivered direct to the client ready to take to market.
