13.3.08: whilst wet proofing a beautiful screen print for Virgin Atlantic, there were still a few colour issues: how would the ink look on colorplan? How would it look without the varnish underneath the inks? Whether it should dry naturally – and dry back much more as the wets did or dry it straight away? It was fascinating to see the old school way of screen printing again after so much time spent in conventional sheet fed factories of late. The ink mixing was superb! No scales, no science, just all by eye and manual... well, obviously it’s produced on machines, but I got a real buzz out of being in the factory turning back time. The end result was stunning: 2 colour metallic limited edition print and litho printed letter and certificate and address label with variable data on them.
